In order to determine the correct market value of a horse, an appraiser collects information regarding pedigree, training, show results and conformation.
With the research attained, that information is then corralated and measured against comparable horses.
The market value is determined using unbiased, mathmatical procedures very similar to that of an appraisal of your home.
Appraisals are very helpful and sometimes mandatory in regards to buy or selling a horse, insurance, taxes, estate planning, and litigation. It is a typically unknown IRS fact, that when donating or gifting a horse,
in excess of $5000, a certified equine appraisal is required.
As a certified, Life Member of The American Society of Equine Appraisers, Centre Ring Equine Services, Inc is held to the highest standards and code of ethics.
There are many factors that are and are not considered in an appraisal. We provide a fair, unemotional and unbiased determination of value.
